BACHATA COMPETITION
The Sensualonica Jack & Jill Bachata Competition is a social dance competition open mainly to amateur dancers, with one open-level division for all participants. Dancers register individually and compete with randomly assigned partners, creating a dynamic format that highlights timing, technique, connection, musicality and overall presentation. The competition will take place on Friday, 17 April, as part of Sensualonica. Separate awards will be presented for Leaders and Followers, while winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded. Additional special awards may also be presented, and prizes may include trophies, festival merchandise, and possible invitations to future events. It is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, gain experience, and be part of the energy of Sensualonica.

Judges will evaluate dancers based on timing, technique, connection, musicality, and overall presentation. All bachata styles are welcome, including traditional, modern, sensual, and fusion, as long as the dancing remains clearly within the style and timing of bachata.
Dips are allowed, as long as at least one foot of each partner remains on the floor. Lifts are not allowed. If a lift is performed, the couple may be disqualified.
Separate awards will be presented for Leaders and Followers. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be awarded. Additional special awards may also be presented, and prizes may include trophies, cash prizes, festival merchandise, or invitations to future events.
By joining the competition, all participants accept the rules and the final decisions of the organizers and judges.
